So, what do you want to know?

I guess I'll start with the obvious... I'm Rob, from the UK, an age when you start redefining middle-age to make it sound further away (though mentally I still feel about 20), have a weird ability to twitch my nose like a rabbit's and am an English teacher (EFL/ ESOL - English, when it's not your first language).

That last point took me to Russia to work for four years. I returned to the UK with my very own Russian Doll (no, I haven't tried to open her to see if there are smaller versions inside). So, I never really escape Russia and things Russian.

The blog also touches on other parts of Eastern Europe but mainly talks about Russia. In answer to the question, "Why?" You need to go back to the beginning.
